Ford GT90
Specifications The GT90 itself was only a concept at most, but it's ancestor, the GT40, it one of the most well known classic race cars. Not only was the GT90 way ahead of it's time (made in the early 90's), but it would not only have given the McLaren F1 a hard time, but blow away the Ferrari F50, Lamborghini Diablo, and Bugatti EB 110! How's that for performance? Most cars you find will be great looking on the outside and ugly on the inside, or vice versa. But the GT90 is one of the few sports cars that are amazing inside and out, as you can see from this interior picture below.
An obvious reason why this car is so fast is it's engine, which is actually 2 twin turbo inline 6 engines fused together to form one massive hybrid V-12 engine. Here is a picture of this amazing piece of work:
Click the image to see a larger view. This engine has an output power of 720 HP and 6600 RPM. Now that's fast. With it's 5-speed manual transmission, it can go 0-60 in 3.1 seconds, which is faster than the McLaren F1's time at 3.4 seconds. A modified version of this car could possibly beat the McLaren, but not by much. The GT90 has a top speed of 235+ mph. This doesn't cost as much as the McLaren but seeing how it is a concept car, it will be much harder to find for it's retail price of $800,000. |
